THE MINEOLA TWINS: A COMEDY IN SIX SCENES, FOUR DREAMS, AND (AT LEAST) SIX WIGS

Paula Vogel's The Mineola Twins is a campy romp through a lifetime of sisterhood. Twin sisters Myrna and Myra embody the good girl/bad girl virgin/whore dichotomy which limits women's individual successes, failures and personal journeys. The Mineola Twins follows the intertwined lives of the twin sisters through the Eisenhower, Nixon and Bush administrations--marking time and their lives through the political climate of recent decades. The twins are polar opposites in their politics, ethics and bra-cup sizes. This comedy, played out in bad wigs, stuffed bras and dream sequences, elucidates the bond of sisterhood which binds us past biology, public opinion and political affiliation.
